With his mother also facing health challenges, Bob took it upon himself to shoulder the burden of supporting his family, working tirelessly six days a week after school to make ends meet. Despite the immense responsibilities thrust upon him, Bob remained undeterred, ensuring that his siblings’ basic needs were met and that they could stay together as a family.

Even at a young age, Bob’s sense of duty and dedication shone through. His decision to enlist in the army at 17, with his mother’s blessing, underscored his commitment to his family’s well-being. Serving his country while still a teenager, Bob’s resilience was tested yet again when he received a hardship discharge after two years, opting to return home to care for his ailing parents.

Undeterred by the challenges he faced, Bob embarked on a new chapter, venturing into the world of insurance. Through hard work and perseverance, he found success in his own insurance business, providing not only for his parents but also expanding his reach to support American soldiers stationed abroad.

The demands of his career never allowed Bob to lose touch with his family’s needs. Since his parents’ health was suffering as a result of harsh Minnesota winters in their later years, Bob decided to make the bold decision of purchasing a property in Florida to ensure their comfort and well-being in their later years.

While Bob’s spirit was unbroken despite the loss of both of his parents, his tragedy did not break his indomitable spirit. His relocation to Dallas, Texas, was the catalyst for him to embark on a successful career in real estate, leveraging his experience and skills.

His perseverance and resilience proved that even the greatest obstacles were insurmountable, despite unimaginable hardships. In 1997, Bob founded HMS Inc. intending to provide honest advice and assistance to homebuyers inspired by his own disappointing home purchase experience.
